God has a plan for you and I, suffering is not something we seek in this life but something that we must learn to endure and offer to Our Lord Jesus Christ. Our humanity seeks pleasure and runs from pain, our struggles and temptations with anger and bitterness is a normal human reaction with suffering but we must not allow this to grow in our hearts we must seek the sacraments of confession and if needed the anointing of the sick to strengthen us. Through these challenges God has a plan of redemption and we must trust in HIS plan. We must continue to grow in faith, even if our faith is as small as a mustard seed God will see us through. Although a mustard seed may be very small, remember that this small seed grows into a very large tree and this will be our faith if we continue to seek HIM in all things.
Luke 17:1 & 5
Some Sayings of Jesus
17 Jesus said to his disciples, “Occasions for stumbling are bound to come, but woe to anyone by whom they come!
5 The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!” 6 The Lord replied, “If you had faith the size of a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.
This is a challenge, don’t get me wrong, this is not easy, it was not easy for Jesus to suffer upon the cross for us, something that we need to reflect upon. The challenge for each of us is to pick up our CROSS and follow HIM, HE is our perfect example… Keep Your Eyes on the Beloved as Simonetta sings, this is all that we can do…and look to the Blessed Mother for comfort and strength.
The Cross and Self-Denial
20 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered, “The Messiah[a] of God.”
Jesus Foretells His Death and Resurrection
21 He sternly ordered and commanded them not to tell anyone, 22 saying, “The Son of Man must undergo great suffering, and be rejected by the elders, chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and on the third day be raised.”
23 Then he said to them all, “If any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.
Let us unite our sufferings to Jesus, we must not waste our sufferings by complaining but unite them to Our Lord, He will do the rest and you will see the benefits in the end. I can not tell you when or how, but with the tiniest faith we will get through and Our Blessed Mother and the Heavenly Saints will be our guide in this life as well as faithful family and friends.
Remember: YOU are NOT ALONE.
Let us pray: Oh my Jesus, I offer this for love of Thee, for the conversion of sinners, and in reparation for the sins committed against the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
Dear Lord, Help me to remember in these troubled times
The cross you carried for my sake, So that I may better carry mine and to help others do the same, as I offer up
(whatever your concern or problem here)
to you, for the conversion of sinners, the forgiveness of sins
in reparation for sins and for the salvation of souls.
